One of Les Mills’ most popular high-energy classes is heading to the Meta Quest.

When it comes to group fitness, Les Mills is a global leader with 140,000 certified trainers in 21,000 clubs across 100 countries leading classes with extreme names like Sh’Bam, Bodyattack, RPM, and Les Mills Core, a popular class that focuses on core tone and sports performance.

Classes are available as in-person live events, livestreams, or through the LES MILLS+ streaming platform. Now it appears as though we can add VR to that list. Last week the company announced plans to bring one of Les Mills’ most popular high-energy classes to the Meta Quest.

Unlike VR fitness experiences like Supernatural or BoxVR, Bodycombat features unique martial arts-inspired workouts. Rather than focus on a single style of martial arts, you’ll actually learn moves from multiple disciplines such as Karate, Taekwondo, Boxing, Muay Thai, Capoeira, and Kung Fu.

In addition to punching, ducking, and swinging your arms, you’ll also need to slip and squat to avoid moving walls, throw massive sky punches to break overhead targets, and lay down powerful hammer punches. Most unique of all is the knee strikes. By grabbing certain targets with your motion controllers you can deliver ferocious knee attacks, adding a bit of lower-body engagement to your workout.

You’re basically getting an all-access pass to a variety of beginner or advanced workouts that includes boxing fitness, speed workout, core, lower body, and more.

Each class is available in 55, 45, or 30-minute sessions led by certified Les Mills instructors Dan Cohen and Rachael Newsham who will guide you and keep you motivated as you push through each workout in cool environments like Mars, Neo City, Tundra, Rome, and Japan. You can expect more locations in future updates.

The game promises a killer soundtrack designed to keep you pumped up and moving during your workouts with songs from artists like Noam Dee, Fas Fash, and many other artists.

If you’re not familiar with Les Mills, he is a four-time Olympian and considered one of the greatest track-and-field coaches in the history of sports. He pretty much changed the way we experience the gym today when he and his wife, Colleen, opened a gym in 1968 that would allow everyday folks the ability to experience a level of fitness training that at the time, only Olympic athletes had access to.

His entire approach to working out was based on real science and designed to bring out the best athlete in everyone, as long as you committed to the routine. The Les Mills Bodycontact VR experience is no different. Every workout is scientifically designed to give you amazing results, and you can even track your performance through the app.

Les Mills Bodycombat will be available on the Meta Quest Store on February 3rd as a one-time payment of $29.99. Les Mills and developer Odders Lab are also working on a monthly subscription model that will add a ton of training plans, new features, and multiplayer modes for fitness enthusiasts. Both models will coexist and the core content of the base game will always be available for those who made a one-time payment.
